Bi-curiosity killed the cat!
Recently in a conversation I overheard a young lady referred to herself as Bi, then corrected herself to say Bi-curious. I didn't engage in the conversation, but I did have a few thoughts on the matter. Being gay myself ,I could related to the phase of "have not yet slept with a woman" However: the term Bi-curious is harmful to the gay community in its entirety. In simple terms the break down of Bi curious means in plain English, "yes I'd like to sleep with a woman, but I don't know if I'd like it."
Bisexuality isn't something you try on like a pair of pants. It's not like eating a vegetable for the first time. I've tried Brussels sprouts, but I don't really like them so I am not going to eat them again. It also says to the general public that human sexuality is a choice, you can choose if you are gay or not. Hey maybe you don't really like it, but you can do it anyhow. Folks who are Homosexual, transsexual or Bisexual don't have that choice. True Bisexual people are equally attracted to both sex and would be truly happy finding a life partner of either sex. Bisexual does not mean that he or she requires multiple partners, they are not greedy, the more accurate word would be ambivalent.
I also know plenty of Non-hetrosexual indivduals who have not yet slept with anyone, so how can they claim that they are not straight. It's simple, sexuality is an "ism" it is what it is. You are born with it and carry it with you all your life.
Also, adding the tag, "curious" just announces to everyone what you have or have not done in your bedroom. This is the reason bedrooms have doors. No one needs to know what you have or have not done. So the next time you are referring to your own sexuality, make it an ism. You are what you are.
And never forget whatever you are, you are fabulous!
